Six insulation and fire-protection services

Every one of these has a page of its own explaining what the work involves, where it suits, where it does not, and what drives the cost.

Spray Foam Insulation

Open-cell and closed-cell polyurethane foam that insulates and air seals in a single application. Used in attics, walls, basements, crawl spaces and commercial envelopes.

Blown-In Attic Insulation

Loose-fill fibreglass or cellulose blown across an attic floor to an even, measured depth. The usual choice for topping up an under-insulated attic.

Attic Insulation Removal

Vacuum removal of old, damaged or contaminated attic insulation, with containment and disposal, so the attic can be air sealed and re-insulated properly.

Fibreglass Batt Insulation

Pre-cut fibreglass batts friction-fit into walls, ceilings, basements and garages. Cost-effective and dependable when it is cut and fitted correctly.

Fireproofing

Spray-applied cementitious fire-resistive material and intumescent coatings for structural steel in commercial and industrial buildings.

Soundproofing

Acoustic treatment for walls, ceilings and mechanical rooms in homes, offices and multi-unit buildings, planned around how sound actually travels.

The quickest way through this list is to start from the problem rather than the product. An accessible attic that is simply shallow is a blown-in top-up; one whose existing material is wet, compacted or contaminated needs removing before anything else. A cavity that is irregular, obstructed, or that has to be air sealed as well as insulated, is where spray foam earns its premium β€” and a clean, square, accessible stud bay is where fibreglass batts quietly beat it on value.

Two of the six are not thermal work at all. Applied fire protection delays the heating of structural steel and is governed by a tested assembly rather than by a thickness someone chose, and sound control depends on how an assembly is built far more than on what fills its cavity. Neither is an upgrade to insulation; both are separate disciplines that happen to share our crews and our sites.

Who you are changes how a job runs as much as what you need, which is why houses, commercial buildings, industrial facilities and builder packages each have their own page. We work from Mississauga across the western GTA, with dedicated pages for Brampton, Concord and Etobicoke. If you would rather read before you call, the guides section covers the decisions that come up most.

Choosing between them

Most enquiries start with a symptom rather than a product: a cold bedroom above the garage, an ice dam every February, heating bills that keep climbing, noise coming through a party wall, or a specification on a set of drawings. The right service follows from the symptom and the assembly, not the other way round.

If the problem is heat loss in an existing house

Start with the attic. It is usually the largest, cheapest win in a GTA house, and it is the easiest place to add real depth. Blown-in insulation covers an attic floor evenly and gets into the awkward corners batts cannot. If what is already up there is wet, compacted or contaminated, it needs to come out first β€” that is attic insulation removal.

If the space is irregular, or you need air sealing too

Spray foam insulates and air seals in one application, which is why it suits rim joists, cathedral ceilings, crawl spaces and framing that batts cannot be cut around cleanly. It costs more per unit of thickness, so it earns its place where that combination genuinely matters.

If the assembly is simple and accessible

Fibreglass batts are still the sensible default in standard stud walls, floors above unheated spaces and new construction where the framing is regular and open. Fitted properly β€” no compression, no gaps β€” they perform exactly as specified, at a fraction of the cost of foam.

If the requirement is fire or noise related

Fireproofing is passive fire protection for structural steel in commercial and industrial buildings, applied to a project’s specification. Soundproofing is a different discipline again β€” insulation contributes to it, but sound isolation depends on the whole assembly, not on the insulation alone.

Not sure which applies?

Describe the building and the problem when you get in touch. We will tell you which service fits, and say so plainly if the answer is that you do not need us β€” sometimes the fix is a roofer, an HVAC contractor or a sealed attic hatch.

Who we work for

  • Residential β€” Houses, townhouses and condominium units - attics, basements, crawl spaces, walls and garages.
  • Commercial β€” Offices, retail, mixed-use and multi-unit residential buildings, occupied retrofits and new construction.
  • Industrial β€” Warehouses, distribution centres and manufacturing facilities, including structural steel fireproofing.
  • Builders & Contractors β€” Insulation subcontracting for builders and general contractors, from scope review through to close-out.
